28 weeks

28 weeks today! i think i forgot to take a picture at week 27…but…it was christmas time and i was busy. i'm officially feeling very pregnant these days. my tummy is just getting bigger and bigger. i was reading on my pregnancy app this morning that from here on out baby reece is going to double if not almost triple in size……..
this makes me a little nervous. i don't know if i have room in there for a double sized baby. i even feel him kick on complete opposite sides of my belly at the same time…so he must be pretty squished in there already. he is still always very excited right after i eat. it's kind of cute to me because he kicks on the regular these days but after i've had a hearty good meal he really goes to town. its adorable. at times his movements are so big that it shakes my whole tummy…sometimes even catching my peripheral vision.

my last doctors appointment went well. i asked him about the possible contractions i had been having and he reassured me that as long as they aren't a regular occurrence i should be perfectly fine. and i have been. he also measured my tummy and said i was right on track for size. i gained about 3 lbs since my last appointment…which made sense to me because between this appointment and my last one i feel like i really popped. my total weight gain is just about 8-10 lbs so far. doc says i'm still doing good. it got a little more exciting and real because normally i go in every 4 weeks and this time my doctor said he wanted to see me in 3…the appointments are getting closer and closer together!  AHH! freakin me out.

this week i go in for my glucose screening and a shot i have to have because i have a negative blood type. lucky me. i knew i had to have it because all my sisters are negative as well and had to have it. i guess if you have a negative blood type and your baby has a positive then during birth {or something?} if you and your baby's blood mixes at all it creates a hostile environment in your uterus and you won't be able to have any more children. my uterus would reject it. it's kind of complicated and weird, but, i'm happy to have the shot if it means i get more babies. :)

by the way…lets talk about how often my hair is in a top bun these days…especially on take picture of your belly days. and speaking of taking pictures of your belly…..i have a question for you friends of mine….should i do a maternity photo shoot? i can't decide…..i don't really know what i would use the pictures for…and heaven knows norman hates getting his picture taken. plus i'm not very cheesy and i don't want like little heart hands on my belly or bare belly pics or weird stuff like that…so i don't know. should i do it? is it worth it? do you moms who didn't do it wish you would've? looking for some opinions :)

i have a couple other questions about pictures and babies and pregnancy and such but i'll save it for a different day. hope everyone's sabbath is smashing and i hope everyone has stellar plans for the new year!

bring it on 2014!

    1. I think you should do pictures. This is an exciting time that needs to be documented. The don't have to be professionally done. But it would be good too have a few to put in the baby book

  2. I would say no pictures. You're doing them right now! You don't need professional or awkward ones top make it real...That is just my opinion. I've always been weirded or by those pictures. The ones you are doing right now are perfect (simple, not awkward, and you can see the growth you have had).

  3. As you know, Ellisyn came five weeks early and exactly one day before we were scheduled to have my maternity photos taken which means we don't have any maternity photos of me pregnant with her. I wish we had some, and after she's born you'll miss that cute belly and the sweet kicks inside. I would definitely get the pictures taken, because I wish I would have been able to get them. Plus, you are adorable!

  4. Seeing all your updates makes me miss being pregnant!! I wasn't planning on maternity pictures but I won a giveaway and we ended up getting some done. I'm glad we did :) It's nice to have them to look back on. We didn't do any that were too cheesy haha :)

  5. Do the pictures! I agree, they can be a little awkward, but they don't have to be! Just do something simple and classy, no big production. And if Norman doesn't like getting his picture taken, he doesn't have to be in them - Stephen does them with a happy heart for my sake but he's not the hugest fan, either, but my favorite ones were just Uriah and I, anyway! Your little man isn't going to be growing in your belly much longer - it's the last time you get to hold him that close and feel his kicks and hiccups and heartbeats... I hated being pregnant and was miserable almost the whole 37 weeks, but the pictures I have remind me just how precious it actually was and I do miss it! I have one hanging in our room and one in Uriah's - they're not something I'm going to blow up and display all over the house, but I'm so happy I have them nonetheless! It's such a beautiful time, even if you don't feel it! I see pregnancy pictures as a love story! Ahh I could just go on and on! Haha! Do the pictures!
