the birthday boy

for norman's birthday i had a little weekend treat planned for him. and it went ever so nicely.

we left friday after i was done with school and norm was done with work to head to salt lake city. my cousin, mekelle, and her husband, nick, were meeting us at the desert star playhouse! :)

norman and nick's birthdays are a day apart so we wanted to do something with all of us since we hadn't seen each other in a while.
so we went to the playhouse. and guys....if you haven't been you have to go. they do parody's {spoofs...for those who don't know what a parody is} of plays or movies and they serve you dinner during the show. so we went to see les miserables: a little less miserable. and it was absolutely hilarious. we had fabulous seats. second row. we were all laughing so hard. and my birthday boy even got pulled up on stage cause he was volunteered to kill jean val jean in the play. :) it was so great.

anywho, we had a great time and everyone should go see their plays. it's in murray, utah on state street. really easy to find.

after that we went back to heber, where my cousin lives, and stayed the night.

so the next morning we woke up to watch the first session of conference with the fam. my cousin, jordan, and her husband, jason, were there with their oh so beautiful new baby boy that i hadn't got the chance to meet, yet.

is he not the cutest?

then i had tickets with my sister-in-law to go to the saturday afternoon session of conference, and norman had tickets with his dad for the priesthood session.
so back to salt lake we went.

so we stayed with his family in the hotel saturday night and drove home and listened to conference sunday. :) conference is always a favorite weekend of mine and there were so many great talks. like usual.

here were some of my favorites:
and then of course, i don't know how he manages it every time...but takin home the gold was:

all the talks really were so fabulous. for a full list to watch/read/listen to go here.

it was such a fun weekend and i hope everyone else enjoyed it as well!

  2. My husband and I have been thinking about going to that play (we live about 10 minutes from the Desert Star). Glad you enjoyed it! We may have to check it out. :)
