pepper kelsey: 1 month

alright... remember when i used to blog?? i don't really anymore... but i feel like i have to do these baby posts cause i did them for grant and brecken, hhhhya know?? so here i am... blogging again...and i feel like i'll probably be glad i did them, to remember those little things you forget. so here we go!

sleep: she has slept pretty good! not as good as brecken, not as bad as grant... so i'll take it. she sleeps an average or 4-5 hour stretches at night. some nights she does better than others. one night she gave me TEN hours of sleep. but it was a fluke and hasn't happened since. and then last night she was up every 2-3 hours..so...you know... you take what you can get. she sleeps great in the day, naps really well. 

eat: pepper has probably been my worse nurser so far. she latches great, and wants to eat, but she can't handle my fast flow so good. so she DOES eat well...but she swallows a lot of air and chokes on my milk while doing it. it's kind of a struggle sometimes. haha. but overall she eats good... i mean.. she IS my chubbiest baby. we just have to be sure to burp her often during feedings or else it's a nightmare of tummy pain.

milestones: we haven't really done tummy time but probably about a week ago i laid her on my bed on her tummy and she managed to flip from her tummy to her back. i know it's easier on a soft surface like a bed than it is on the floor, but... still.. we thought it was pretty good. :) 

1 month stats:

weight: 10 lbs 15 oz                percentile: 88%

length: 21.8 inches                 percentile: 87%

head circumference: 15 inch  percentile: 77% 

things to remember:

she is LOVED big time by her big brother. grant looooves her. is such a good helper and it's the sweetest thing. brecken likes her, too. but probably not as much. she likes to hold her and stuff but still feels a little left out i think. we try to give brecken a lot of attention, too to make the transition easier. but she's gonna be an awesome big sister. i told norman yesterday that i kind of want to have another girl. (he didn't agree...although he would LOVE another girl, he wants another boy). but i just love these little girls!! and i want to make myself as many little best friends as i can! 

pepper is kind of a fussy baby. not terribly, but she doesn't take a binki .... *eyeroll emoji*... so that sucks.. but she's pretty easily soothed for the most part. she just really likes to be held. occasionally she will get that tummy pain though and then she just screams her life away. so. that's fun. 

she's starting to make a lot more eye contact and we have gotten some semi smiles out of her... we are working on it. she mostly just furrows her eyebrows at us. 

she still is rocking that strawberry blonde hair and i'm LOVING it. i hope it stays. it's such a pretty color. and i may be getting my hopes up but i think it MAY be a little curly??? i don't know for sure but after baths and stuff it gets a little curly and then kind of frizzy when it dries. i'm crossing my fingers over here. i have naturally curly hair and i've been waiting for a curly haired babe!!! but that straight hair gene that norman has is a strong one so... we'll see how it goes.

i think that's about it!! we are attempting to take some family pictures today...should be interesting since we have no one to take them! haha. just doing it ourselves. but we didn't end up doing christmas cards or pictures cause i was 80 years pregnant and didn't get around to it. so wish us luck!
