grant turns one!

finally getting around to blogging about this little dude's first birthday!! it was a pretty great day. we started the morning off SUPER healthy with a powdered, raspberry filled donut. and he pounded the whole thing. it was adorable. also...don't mind my messy apartment, k? k.

after we bathed and got ready we headed to pocatello for the weekend. both of our families are from there and so we decided to bring the party to them. we had it at my sister's house. i really wanted to keep it simple and not over do it. just keep the focus on celebrating this little baby of mine's first year of life, and not so much on a "pinterest-worthy" party.

my mom made lasagna for everyone and it was FABULOUS! then we opened presents, and ate cake! it was simple and delicious! i hung pictures of grant through his first year and it made me soooooo nostalgic putting them up and taking them down. it's been a crazy year.

i managed to make the simple cake for grant ^^^above ^^^...my food presenting skills aren't the best...but my mother-in-law....she has her crap together. always makes the best meals and she loves to do cakes...so i put her in charge of making the cake that all of us adults would consume. v v v below v v v

i wanted to get a picture of grant in his cute shirt i got him that says "i am this many" with a number one finger on it. but unfortunately, my poor boy had a fever on and off ALL day from teething....so he wasn't in a super mood and would only let me take a picture of him if norman was holding him.

we love this little boy so much and often find ourselves saying to each other.... "norm/morgan.....he is soooo cute...why is he so cute??" we just can't believe he is ours. we both feel privileged to be his parents. we love that we had a whole day to celebrate him and reminisce on the day he came into our world.
